1937-2024

Mrs. Patsy McCain Purvis, daughter of Jeff L. McCain and Ivey McCain Roper, was born September 23, 1937, in Wilmot, AR. Patsy departed her loving family on September 28, 2024 just after her 87 th birthday. She graduated from Bonita High School. Patsy was united in marriage to Paul Purvis on July 6, 1957, and celebrated their 67 th anniversary this year. They were blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Paula.

In their early years of marriage, Paul and Patsy called several cities home until settling down in Spring, TX in 1976. Paul and Patsy bought and ran a restaurant, Westfield Junction, for five years. Patsy went on to serve at Houston Airport Marriott as Head Concierge and retired after 25 years. To enjoy their retirement years, Paul and Patsy moved to Huntsville, TX in 2013.

Through the years, Patsy was involved in various clubs. Paul and Patsy were members of the Monroe Cross Trailers Square Dance Club. She held many positions on the Board of the Houston Concierge Association, was in the Walker County Master Gardeners, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Huntsville. Patsy loved traveling, baking, reading, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her friends and family.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Paul, and their daughters, Debbie Smith (Bobby) and Paula Welch (John); brothers, Jeff McCain (Becky) and Jimmy McCain; grandchildren, Amanda McGinnis (Steve), Kara Smith, Stephanie Welch, and Austin Smith; great-grandchildren,

Anthony McGinnis, and Jenna Welch; nieces, Allison Jarrell (Palmer) and Ashley Carter (John); and four great-nephews.

Patsy is preceded in death by her father, Jeff L. McCain and mother, Ivey McCain Roper; brothers, C. W. "Buddy" Reid and E. A. "Pete" McCain; and nephew, Keith McCain.

Visitation will be held at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home on October 1st from 5-7pm.

Services will be held at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home on October 2nd at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Walker County Master Gardeners.
