Ronald Anthony Tallent Obituary

Riverside - It is with deep sadness that we share that Ronald Anthony Tallent, passed away suddenly on July 15, 2026, at the age of 69. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and dear friend. He will be remembered for his immense love of family, dedication to his career and family business, his sarcastic sense of humor and warm generosity.

Ron was born in Houston, Texas, to loving parents Thomas and Arleen Tallent. Thomas was a local businessman and butcher in their Houston Heights neighborhood, and it was there where Ron learned the trade and influenced his decision to help build a business later in life. Arleen was a homemaker and proudly took a leading role to raise their four children to be hardworking and ambitious in whatever they pursued, while loving each other unconditionally. As the youngest of the family, he looked up to his siblings Tommy, Mary and John. He attended All Saints Catholic School before transferring to John H. Reagan High School, where he graduated in 1974.

In his early twenties, Ron met his lifelong love of 45 years, Diane. They were introduced through mutual friends while boating on the Trinity River. They loved being on the water, and shared many experiences like this as a family of four later in life. Ron's late mother, Arleen, often fondly shared a memory from the day Ron and Diane met; the first thing he said when he got home was, "Mom, I met the woman I'm going to marry today." He was right; Ron and Diane married on March 14, 1981. Their love and devotion to each other was palpable and only grew stronger throughout their decades together.

In 1977, the Tallent family began their business - now known as Tallent Sausage - which would change the course of their lives.

Most importantly, Ron was a family man. His greatest accomplishment in life was being a husband and father, and he often reminded us that every success he achieved was all for the love of Diane and his daughters, Ashley and Lori. He was a provider in every sense of the word, and encouraged and supported Ashley and Lori to follow their dreams. As an avid storyteller, he loved talking to others; but he was equally a great listener and offered sound advice, no matter the topic. He always made time for others when it was needed, and without a doubt Ron, Diane, Ashley and Lori were a team; a tight family unit and he was the foundation that held them together. Whether it was annual family beach trips, road trips across the great state of Texas, supporting his daughters through college and graduate school or walking them down the aisle at their weddings, he was there no matter what and it brought him immense joy to make others happy.

Ron will be tremendously missed by his loving wife, Diane, their daughters Ashley Roberts and Lori King, and sons-in-law Cody Roberts and Jordan King. He was a proud grandfather to Tristan and Jace, who brought him a renewed sense of youth, humor and fun which filled his heart with love.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Tallent, mother, Arleen Keil Tallent, and siblings Tommy Tallent, Mary Tallent-Runnels, John Tallent and nephew Ryan Tallent

Nothing will ever replace the void Ron leaves behind. He deeply believed in leaving everything better than he found them, and we are all better for knowing him and having him in our lives. We will love you forever, remember you always and hope you always have a fish on the line.
