Royce Everett Oswalt Obituary

Huntsville, Texas - Royce Everett Oswalt, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Laredo, Texas on September 2, 1942 to parents Anglin and Elba Oswalt.

Royce served his country in the US Army after high school. He served active duty in Germany and then finished his stint in the Reserves. In 1972, Royce moved to Huntsville, Texas and opened Royce's Styling Center. He served the community as a barber for many years. He loved to witness to his cliental and they would witness to him. He was a true friend to those who needed to talk, even if it meant leaving the doors open a little longer. Royce had many devoted clients that were more like family than just friends. He unfortunately had to hang up his clippers and retire in Dec. of 2005 due to health-related reasons.

Royce was married to the love of his life, Betty, for almost 43 years. Betty had four daughters from her first marriage and Royce took them in like his own and never looked back. He loved being a "girl dad". He loved to grill outdoors on one of his many grills. Royce loved to his tractor and "playing with his big boy toys". He was an avid gun and knife collector. He loved spending time with family and seeing what every one was up to. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. Royce also had a loyal companion named Lily, that was his spoiled rotten fur baby and she will miss him very much.

Royce is survived by his loving wife Betty Jane Oswalt; daughters Annette Finley and husband Irven, Shelia Dagenhart and husband Charlie, Penny Hall and husband Jeremy, and Misty Klawinsky and husband Steven; grandchildren Elizabeth, Jacob, Shaunica, J.R., Sarah, Cierra, Hunter, Travis, Cody, Michael, Danielle, and bonus granddaughters Chantel and Kira; great grandchildren Wyatt, Kayden, Emberlynn, Everleigh, Raelynn, Riley, Savannah, Kylie, July, Everleigh, AnnaMae, and Jameson. He is also survived by his sisters Beverly Schultz and husband Chuck, Nelda Emmert and husband Gayle, and Edwina Nelson and husband John. He has numerous extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Larry Grimm and nephew Wade Grimm.
