Houston, Texas - Vertis Winfrey was born on November 22, 1932 to Robert E. and Lelia Johnson Winfrey. He passed away on June 9, 2020 at his Harris County home one day after his sibling Criselia Collins. In addition he was also preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Vergetta Butler, Hattie Mae Riles, Robert Winfrey and Jim Winfrey. Vertis leaves behind his sister: Gloris McAdams and a host of nieces, nephews and additional family and friends. A graveside service was held on Saturday, June 13, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Hopewell Cemetery in Bedias, Texas.
