Huntsville, Texas - Yvonne Youngblood Parkhill Fowler passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025.

Yvonne was born on November 30, 1930, in Timpson, Texas. She was the youngest of five children born to Lee and Ora Youngblood. After graduating high school, she attended Sam Houston State University and graduated in 1951. Upon graduation, she went on to teach education in Rogers, Texas. In 1952, she married Elwood Parkhill and raised three children, Diane, Steve, and David.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, after 30 wonderful years of marriage. In 1984 her youngest son, David, passed from a motorcycle accident. She married Robert "Bob" Fowler in 1989 and enjoyed a happy marriage filled with lots of traveling and golf until his death in 2019, followed by son Randy Fowler and granddaughter Lisa Fowler.

Yvonne enjoyed playing golf at Elkins Lake and hit her first hole-in-one witnessed by her daughter. She loved her time with friends playing bridge and other social events at Elkins Lake. One of her favorite passions was gardening. She won "Yard of the Month" several times and took pride in her beautiful azaleas. Yvonne was an avid reader and loved poetry and her daily devotions. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville.

In her last years at Carriage Inn, she found a new love and talent for painting and shared her talent with friends and family. She enjoyed meeting new friends and participating in the many activities.

She is survived by her children Diane and Mark Smith, Steve and Lisa Parkhill, Judy and Kim Hope, Barbara Fowler, and many grand and great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Paloma Almanza for the many years as a caregiver and executive assistant. She referred to Paloma as her adopted granddaughter and loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park, Huntsville, Texas on August 31st, 4:00-6:00pm.

Graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Ken Bugh at Oakwood Cemetery on September 1st at 11:00am.
